Two new London bars are launching in London via CDG Leisure and Restaurant Property.
Award-winning institution Tequila Mockingbird is opening a third branch at 82 Mitcham Road in Tooting and independent operator B&F Pub Limited will launch a new concept, as yet unnamed, at 47 Balham Hill, Clapham. It is currently trading as an alternative concept in Chelsea.
Tequila Mockingbird is expected to open at the end of January 2019 after a comprehensive refurbishment. The concept will remain in line with its other branches in in Clapham and Putney, with classic cocktails, resident DJs and late-night dancing.
Jon Bas, director, Tequila Mockingbird, said: “This location is ideal for our third branch, having already had huge success trading as Brick and Liquor. There is a growing leisure offering in the area and we want to be at the forefront of that trend.”
Tom Crosthwaite and David Kornbluth, CDG Leisure, said: “This expansion is testament to the strength of the Tequila Mockingbird brand. In a rapidly evolving area, the venue meets demand from residents and professionals and makes a great addition to the growing nightlife options in Tooting.”
The advisors acted on behalf of former London bar, Brick and Liquor, on the disposal of the 700 sq ft and 1,500 sq ft respective sites.
Gabriella Sether and Jack Coats, Restaurant Property, said: “After winning five Timeout awards, including Timeout Best Bar 2018, and over 100,000 cocktails sold, Brick and Liquor will be closing their doors to focus on new exciting projects, to be announced in early 2019. The new owners will give residents a day and night offering that will bring a great balance to the current tenant mix in the area”.
