The House of Song, the team behind The Piano Works, Farringdon’s popular live music venue, is opening its brand-new concept this month by Leicester Square. CDG Leisure secured a 12,000 sq ft unit on 47 Whitcomb Street, WC2, for the new venue, Studio 88.
Following the success of The Piano Works, Studio 88 - which is named after the 88 keys on a grand piano - will also feature audience-requested live music until the early hours of the morning. Partygoers can request popular songs of their choice on branded napkins, together with a tip, to be played by a rotating series of live musicians, seven nights a week. The 400-capacity late night bar, restaurant and performance space offers room to dance and ushers will be serving a variety of freshly-made cocktails and a variety of California cones.
Our Leisure Property Consultant Emma Cousins who brokered the deal, said: “We are delighted to have secured House of Song’s second London location. The opening of The Piano Works in July 2015 revealed an unprecedented demand for late-night live music venues in the city with a party ambience.
“House of Song’s latest venture, Studio 88, is set to become another destination further catering to that demand and ideally situated by Leicester Square. The high-footfall location, iconic for its vibrant night-time economy and popularity with tourists, is perfect for this new chapter in the House of Song story. “We also anticipate the many dance, film and recording professionals using studios in the vicinity will take advantage of being in proximity to a world-class live music venue, further adding to the creative mix of the area.”
